Black Holes, Bandwidths and Beethoven

چکیده
It is usually believed that a function φ(t) whose Fourier spectrum is bounded can vary at most as fast as its highest frequency component ωmax. This is in fact not the case, as Aharonov, Berry and others drastically demonstrated with explicit counter examples, so-called superoscillations. It has been claimed that even the recording of an entire Beethoven symphony can occur as part of a signal with 1Hz bandwidth. Bandlimited functions also occur as ultraviolet regularized fields. Their superoscillations have been suggested, for example, to resolve the transplanckian frequencies problem of black hole radiation. Here, we give an exact proof for generic superoscillations. Namely, we show that for every fixed bandwidth there exist functions which pass through any finite number of arbitrarily prespecified points. Further, we show that, in spite of the presence of superoscillations, the behavior of bandlimited functions can be characterized reliably, namely through an uncertainty relation: The standard deviation ∆T of samples φ(tn) taken at the Nyquist rate obeys: ∆T ≥ 1/4ωmax. This uncertainty relation generalizes to variable bandwidths. We identify the bandwidth as the in general spatially variable finite local density of the degrees of freedom of ultraviolet regularized fields. PACS: 11.10.-z, 02.30.Sa, 04.70.Dy, 89.70.+c

متن کاملThe phase transition of corrected black hole with f(R) gravity
In this letter, we consider static black hole in f(R) gravity. We take advantage from corrected entropy and temperature and investigate such black hole. Finally, we study the $ P - V $ critically and phase transition of corrected black hole with respect to entropy and temperature. Here also, we obtain the heat capacity for the static black hole in $ f(R) $ gravity. This calculation help us...
متن کاملec 2 00 5 EXIST : All - Sky Hard X - ray Imaging and Spectral - Temporal Survey for Black Holes ⋆
The Energetic X-ray Imaging Survey Telescope (EXIST) is under study for the proposed Black Hole Finder Probe, one of the three Einstein Probe missions in NASA’s proposed Beyond Einstein Program. EXIST would have unique capabilities: it would survey the full sky at 5-600 keV each 95min orbit with 0.9-5 arcmin, 10μsec 45min and ∼0.5-5 keV resolution to locate sources to 10 ′′ and enable black hol...
متن کاملCalculation of the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of relativistic accretion flows in the Kerr metric.
In this paper, we calculate the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of the relativistic accretion ows in the Kerr metric, overall and without any approximation. We obtain the relations of all components of the relativistic bulk and shear tensor in terms of components of four-velocity and its derivatives, Christoffel symbols and metric components in the BLF. Then, these components are deri...
